There’s one thing that can help you feel better right now.
Let something go.
That feels like a bold statement. One I’m already tempted to delete…or at least tone down.
And yet, after working in people’s homes for decades, I know the #1 thing you can do to shift the energy in your home (and in your life) is to declutter. Hard stop.
Decluttering may not have the sexy or mystical reputation of burning sage, but it has greater longevity. It becomes the manifesto of what you’ll no longer tolerate, where you’ve healed, and how you’ve expanded your capacity to receive.
To get you started, here is my favorite playlist of decluttering tips.

MY TOP 15 DECLUTTERING TIPS (in no particular order)
The 3 most direct questions to ask when you’re decluttering
Do I love it?
Do I need?
Do I use it?Any no’s 👉 let it go.
To understand the energy of a belonging, try asking - how does this thing make me feel? If how it makes you feel isn’t how you want to feel 👉 let it go.
Focus on the belongings YOU can control - other people’s stuff is a shiny distraction.
Too many things in too small of a space is clutter. Just like you, your belongings need space to breathe.
Stop waiting for the perfect decluttering day to show up. It probably won’t. Instead commit to decluttering 10 minutes a day.
Declutter during your most productive time of day. If you thrive when the sun goes down, don’t commit to decluttering before you’ve had your morning cup of coffee.
If you don’t know where to start, start in your bedroom. In feng shui, your bedroom is associated with your inner self - and you deserve to be put first. (Plus, it will help you sleep better!)
Start with the lowest hanging fruit - the empty Amazon boxes, stack of junk mail, or dead plants. Your home will notice the energetic difference and give you the hutzpah to do more.
Once you make the decision to let something go, take the next step asap - drop the bag of clothes at the thrift shop, swing by the recycling center with the old paint, pass along the piece of artwork to your sister. When those things linger in a corner, so does their draining energy.
When you hear yourself say - I know what’s in that pile/box/drawer - and are tempted to bypass it, please don’t. There’s a 99% chance you’ll look and hear yourself say - Oops, forgot that was there.
There’s a phenomenon that happens when you let go of something you haven’t used in a decade. You suddenly need it 👉 Regret sets in 👉 You secretly commit to saving everything just in case. Don’t fall for it! It’s a trap from your lizard brain trying to convince you the lions, tigers, and bears are still on your doorstep.
If clutter keeps returning in the same space, there’s a deeper meaning to be revealed. Try asking - if this clutter had a message for me, what would it be? (Or reach out for a private session where we can use the tools of feng shui to ferret out the deeper meanings. Seeing the deeper meaning is the catalyst for lasting change.)
Beware of the pretty things. They too can be clutter.
Gifts that you don’t like are clutter. 🫣 I give you permission to simultaneously honor the gift giver and let go of the gift.
To eliminate decision fatigue (the thing that implodes your decluttering effiorts), try creating one rule that covers multiple items. For example, I’m only keeping clothes I feel comfortable in right now. Or, I’m letting go of any book that I haven’t read/referenced in 5 years.

Oh I love a good decluttering conversation. lol.
I do love the "Does it spark joy" question.
Or, if I ever really needed this again, how hard would it be to replace it?
Another one I have picked up that is soooo helpful for me, is ..."If I lost this, would I pay money to acquire it again?" Bingo. Value question.
Or I ask myself if I'm not using it, do I think other people would benefit from having it. This is why I only keep my *favorite* books. If it's not a favorite, I pass it along.
No advice but came here to say that 🦎 brain is a tough one.
