I gave away 3 - yes THREE! - beautiful dresses (that I loved!) and 3 bottles of supplements to two new friends and felt so happy and free to let them go!!!
I had my daughter help me and we got rid of 80% of stuff in our garage.
She kept the energy up and asked hard questions. She even took things to the tip.
It’s crazy how much stuff we move around from one spot to the other, and never really making the hard decision to let it go - because it still works and we might need it one day.
Or, if I ever really needed this again, how hard would it be to replace it?
Another one I have picked up that is soooo helpful for me, is ..."If I lost this, would I pay money to acquire it again?" Bingo. Value question.
Or I ask myself if I'm not using it, do I think other people would benefit from having it. This is why I only keep my *favorite* books. If it's not a favorite, I pass it along.
Love all those questions! Especially, would I pay money for it again? Or can I replace it? The things I encourage the most thought around are the one of a kind items that can’t ever be replaced. Often family related.
Such good tips. Thank you!
Glad they were helpful!

Definitely one of the more annoying phenomenons around decluttering

That's awesome! Having someone to support you makes such a huge difference.
No advice but came here to say that 🦎 brain is a tough one.
