This is brilliant. In my 20’s, I could see using number five in an unhealthy, passive aggressive attempt to get a partner to do something different instead of just requesting it! I had to out myself there.
Now, as a nomad, I’m so grateful for being able to store my things in my sister’s house on the West Coast and my friend’s house on the East Coast… So this is giving me an increased appreciation for them! And feels good knowing I did so much streamlining leading up to this.
Whenever I stay in someone else’s home, I tend to help clean and organize… And it’s both in part to contribute to the home as well as to create the kind of space that I can thrive in. Then I look in my teenage nephew’s bedroom (I’m staying at my sister’s for another week) and I’m so glad I don’t have to live with that all the time as it would drive me crazy! 😂
